 Plant Dewi believe in strengthening families, nurturing children and building communities. The local projects empower families, children and young people to gain the confidence, skills and knowledge to bring about a change in their lives for themselves. We work throughout South West Wales in the counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.The work that is undertaken in Ceredigion includes Family Centre support, Llais Rhieni Ceredigion Parents’ Voice, Young Parents support, Dads groups and TAF Third Sector Broker.

There are five Family Centres in Ceredigion located in Borth, Penparcau, Lampeter, Llandysul and Tregaron and all receive regular support from Plant Dewi to ensure they are sustainable, provide high quality services and that they cater for the needs of their community.

 

Llais Rhieni Ceredigion Parents’ Voice

Llais Rhieni is a network for parents and carers of children aged 0 – 25. Parents and carers come together on a regular basis to be consulted on a wide range of services and plans that will have an impact on the provisions for children and families in Ceredigion and in Wales.

 

Young Parents support

The young Parents project offers a wide range of support tailored to the individual needs of young parents (25 years and under) through one to one work, outreach and group work- providing support and advice on parenting, relationships, education and training, benefits, housing and health. The aim is to Empower young Parents, improve wellbeing and support them and their children in becoming a part of their community. The Young Parents ‘Emotional Growth Through Creativity’ Programme is run several times during the year in different Ceredigion locations and is a combination of life journey work and creative/ therapeutic art activities, with the goal of increasing self-esteem, confidence and the general wellbeing of young parents.

 

TAF Third Sector Broker

The role of the Team Around the Family Third Sector Broker is to ensure that families within the TAF process are able to access third sector services that can offer support to them, depending on their needs. By attending Lead Professional meetings, the Broker listens to discussions about families and is able to signpost to a wide range of organisations.
